Gustavo Navarro

Managing Partner of Gas Energy Latin America in Peru. Peruvian Chemical Engineer with 47 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry.

Graduated from the Master in Business Administration at the “Universidad del Pacifico” in Peru. He began his career in “La Pampilla” refinery owned by the Peruvian National Oil Company – PETROPERÚ in the 80s and he continued to represent this company in different positions at its main office in Lima, first in the 90s as Corporate Planning Manager and in the last years as Commercial Manager.

He was required twice as a member of the Ministry of Energy and Mines. For the first time and for 5 years he was the Technical Advisor to the Vice Minister of Energy and Executive Secretary of CAREC. The second time and for 6 years from 2003 to 2009 he was the General Director of Hydrocarbons, the highest technical position in the public administration of hydrocarbons in Peru. He has also been a Post-graduate university professor at the “Universidad Católica del Perú” and ESAN in courses such as Planning and Control of Operations and Strategic Planning.

Director and Vice President of PERUPETRO, Peruvian institution in charge of signing E&P contracts for Oil & Gas blocks, from 2004 to 2010. In addition, he was a member of the PROINVERSION ENERGETIC PROSEGURITY Committee from 2014 to 2015. From 2010 to 2018 was a member of the Board and Vice President of CENERGIA and for 18 years Director of the Institute of Oil and Gas (IPEGA) of the “Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería” in Lima.

He is currently the Managing Partner of Peru at Gas Energy Latin America, Regional consultant and Senior Economic Alert Blogger of MAXIMIXE, Peruvian consultant in the economic area.
